How can the growatt hybrid 5kw inverter with batteries be used as backup when grid power is lost?
Hi Greg, the Growatt TL-XH inverters are battery ready and compatible with the Growatt ARK XH High Voltage batteries. The battery comes with a backup box that automatically switches to off-grid mode when the power is out. So yes they can be used as backup when the power is out but only when using it with a compatible battery.

How can I use this inverter off grid?

Hi Alan, yes these units are hybrid inverters and can be used for both grid-tie or off-grid purposes. They're compatible with the Growatt ARK 2.5-XH Battery units.
