Hi Paul, the MIN 5000 TL-X is a grid tie only. For hybrid Growatt have the MIN 5000 TL-XH. (See Link Below)

How can the growatt hybrid 5kw inverter with batteries be used as backup when grid power is lost? Greg Lyons asked on January 4, 2023

Hi Greg, the Growatt TL-XH inverters are battery ready and compatible with the Growatt ARK XH High Voltage batteries. The battery comes with a backup box that automatically switches to off-grid mode when the power is out. So yes they can be used as backup when the power is out but only when using it with a compatible battery.
